Hope

You may have seen my finished faithdex card when I shared it on Instagram (you can follow me @stampymom5) on Christmas Day.  Today, I thought I would share the rest of the story.  I've thought about starting a regular creative feature where I show you how I resurrected some project after a major mess up or goof! I certainly seem to have a lot of them!   I'm telling you, Sisters (and Brothers?) I painstakingly water colored this faithdex card.  And, I loved it!  The florals from Happy Irises at Sweet N Sassy Stamps are fun to color!  It was going to be fabulous.  I was proud of it.  I couldn't wait to share it.  Kind of like me trying to go my own way sometimes...you know?  Just one last step--add the sentiment from The Future set (also from Sweet N Sassy Stamps).

I may have CRIED. OUT. LOUD.

This is not an optical illusion or fuzzy computer screen--this is the real deal.  I was just about to start over, when that little creative voice whispered--fix it.  I surrendered to the process and found myself better than where I started.

Just like in real life, the Word came to my rescue.  I pulled a page from a thrift store bible straight out of the sermon my pastor had preached that day--about Hope.  This little project was a great reminder to me of how God works with our broken pieces.  Battered and torn though we may be, He uses it all for His glory.  And, Hope came down so we could be restored.

I will hope in the character of God.  His plan, His provision, His love, His will.  Let it be.

I finished the backside of this card with more iris images and Sweet N Sassy Stamps from Typewriter Block Alphabet and Trust In The Lord.

Did you notice the sentiment?

It is better to Hope in the God who controls all things
that to despair in the things that are out of our control.

Let us Hope.

This month's release is so fabulous, it was hard for me to choose what I would feature for the hop!  I am 100% in love with that little flamingo from the Happy Camper set so I decided to land there!  This is a great set, very versatile, and you can see works well with many other sets.  I've used it to create a faithdex card and some greeting cards.  My Sisters have used it for bible journaling also--the possibilities are endless!

Happy Camper, Texture Tiles 1 (I'd get the bundle if I were you!) Faith Wordfetti
I'm showing the back of my faithdex card too.  I always do a front and a back as a way of recording and working on memorizing the Word.  The back also uses Doodle Florals and Texture Tiles 1

My prayer this Christmas season includes all of you.  I have THIS hope and wish it for all of you.  May the peace of Christ and the goodness of our Great God be with all of you!  Pray for one another and be blessed.

Coffee and Jesus, #amen

Hey, y'all!!  Happy November 1st!!!  Yikes--what happened to fall?  I'm super excited today to play along in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Be sure to head to the main page and see all of the fabulous Super Sponsors!!  I'm honored to be part of the Sweet N Sassy Stamps team (one of the Super Sponsors) and made a little faith-dex card to play along with the hop!!

The phrase "revive me" always makes me think of Jeremy Camp.  This morning, I listened to a podcast featuring Jeremy's story, I Believe.  This guy is the REAL deal!!  You can find the podcast by searching for GPS (God People Stories)--it's part of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Group.  It was so uplifting--I want everyone to hear it!!  Anyway.....

Focusing on Psalm 119: 153-154, I created this faith-dex card using a few goodies from Sweet N Sassy Stamps:  Typewriter block alpha, Faith Wordfetti, Jesus & Coffee and Fill Me Up.

I'm using my faith-dex obsession to record my favorite verses....lol!  I love it all, so can you imagine what it will be like when I'm done (if that's even possible!)?

Psalm 119: 153 & 154
"Look on my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget your law.  Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise"

In other important news, Sweet N Sassy Stamps is celebrating a birthday!
Thanks for stopping by!!  TTFN--Jane

With Every Breath

"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!.....Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." Psalm 95

Friends!  Are you listening?  Our God is alive and active and He hears our prayers; He answers them!  I work with school age kids in a mental health day treatment program.  It's not an environment in which I routinely am able to speak the name of Jesus, but I pray for the kids we serve.  Sometimes, I pray very specifically for a child who has particularly grabbed my heart.  Will you join me in prayer for "my kiddos"?  God is working!  About a week or so ago, I prayed specifically that He would open a door that I am not able to open myself.  Today, that prayer was answered when my client showed me a self made tattoo of a cross.  I don't approve of the method (really thought I'd be doing a safety assessment) but the next words I heard were "Jesus loves me!"  Just the door I had prayed for and the ability to speak His name.  I needed that door just as much as my client.

How precious is our Great God?  In answering my prayer for another, He gifted me with the real and present proof that He hears me.  You know, sometimes, I just need that.  And, I'm grateful.  Grateful to bury another reminder of His love for me in my heart.  A reminder I'll draw from when the desert comes again.  Because it does.  But God.  He's always there; working even when I don't see it or feel it.  Sing Praise!!

I spent some time in my Psalm Journal using a bunch of goodies from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.  My layout features the Happy Scarecrow, Texture Tiles 1, Incredibly Blessed, Forever & Always, Sing Loud and the October Stamp of the Month, Grateful Heart.

Sing!  Be Blessed, Jane

October Blog Hop--Sweet N Sassy Stamps

Hello, Sweet Friends!!  It's time for another blog hop from the Sweet N Sassy Stamps team where we will share our hearts and inspiration featuring our October release!  It's a good one, my friends!!  If you haven't started from the very beginning, now would be a good time to do that.  I'm sharing the whole hop list to make it easier and to make sure you don't miss any of the inspiration!
Jane Bosi (you are here)

Wayyy back in 2016, I made my first Rolodex card featuring the Sweet N Sassy Stamps set His Wings (I still love that set!).   Little did I know then this would be the next great wave in Creative Worship!  Armed with a few new rolodex dies (Heidi Swapp), and Fall in Love with Jesus, I am all in for this new stampy trend!  I love the smaller format and, especially, the focus I've decided to use to store my favorite scriptures!  The back of this faith-dex card bears the scripture from Jeremiah 31:3

"the Lord appeared to him from far away.  I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you."

For this non-traditionally colored Thanksgiving card, I've combined the leafy elements from Fall in Love with Jesus and a sentiment from So Grateful.  I used a distress ink technique to add color directly to each image, then spritzed with water to create a loose water colored look.

Finally, I used those same leafy images along with Rhubarb's Harvest, Texture Tiles 1 and the Chunky Alphabet to adorn this page in my hymnal.  The colorful background was created by dragging different colors of oxide inks across the page.  Simple, colorful--makes me happy!

You'll save 15% all month on all of the sets in our Autumn catagory--check those out here!  And, have yourself a great, inky day and enjoy the inspiration shared in our hop!  Be sure to leave a comment at each stop for a chance to WIN a $10 gift code for the SNSS store!

The next stop is Lee Ann's fabulous blog--enjoy!

Loved A Latte

Happy Sunday, Sweet Friends!  Today, I'm sharing one of my favorite kinds of cards....a coffee card.  There is just something about a dark, savory cup of black coffee that soothes my soul!  I've been without and thought I'd not go back, but something just pulls me back in!  I do prefer mine black, however, I'm trying to add more protein to my diet and just recently discovered pea milk--I buy the unsweetened vanilla flavor and it is delicious!!  It's a nice way to add nutrition and cool my cup off so I can drink it right away!  Sweet Cocoa Mouse approves!

I created my background using the Sweet N Sassy Stamp's SOTM--Donut Worry  along with a few texture stamps from Texture Tiles and Grunge Elements 2Cocoa's Cups is the perfect "hot drink" set that includes images for coffee, tea and hot cocoa drinkers alike!  There's only a few days left to get Donut Worry FREE with your qualifying purchase--donut wait!!  Fill Me Up, with some help from His Love, makes for a perfect sentiment on this card!

Have a great day and do something that soothes YOUR soul!!  TTFN, Jane

Shadows and Sunshine--Sentimental September

Happy Saturday, Friends!  What a great day it has been so far!!  I wanted to pop in to quick remind you that there are only a few more days left for the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Sentimental September sale!!  You can check out the details and shop (the more you buy, the more you SAVE!!) RIGHT HERE!

I created this card after seeing a similar card on pinterest.  The crosses are cut using dies from Paper Smooches.   I added some watercolor smoosh to the piece of water color paper of the card front.  Layered pattern paper scraps behind each cross completely makes this card!!  But, finally, the sentiment, from Sweet N Sassy Stamps, is the finishing touch that pulls it all together!  You'll find this wonderful sentiment along with many more in the set called The Future.  It's a great encouragement set--something we all need!

Have a great rest of your day, looking forward to the sunshine of tomorrow!!  TTFN, Jane

September Blog Hop--SNSS: Trust In The Lord!

-->Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps September Release Hop! There's another fabulous release in the SNSS shop that we've been stamping with and we're so excited to share our projects with you! Hop along and leave a little comment love for the designers linked below and you might just be a lucky winner! One lucky comment from all the comments along the hop will win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, September 25.

My word for this year is surrender.  I've learned a lot about surrender--true surrender and the way in which it is life giving.  We live in a culture that demands the opposite--a world that tells us we are entitled to "have it our way" and "never say surrender."  True surrender, however, gives life and is grounded in the trustworthiness of our Great God.

Psalm 91: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say to the Lord, "my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."  (v1,2)

He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler (v4)

Imagine what that little bird must do to be covered under the wings of the larger bird? If I am to dwell in the shelter of the Most High and be covered under His wings,  I must be still.  I must remain in Him and go where He goes or else I will lose my covering.  To remain in Him and go where He goes, I must surrender my will, my way and, Be. Still.

Life giving still.  We tend to think that we have to do more, try harder.  But, that is not what His word says.  When we are able to stop our unhealthy striving and dwell in the shelter of the Most High, when we seek His plan and purpose--that is when the unhealthy striving ceases and we are free to abide in the life giving presence of the Almighty.  With all your heart, you can trust in His promises!

I wanted to use my gelli plate since all the cool kids are doing it!  LOL!  I've been inspired by my team mates and the art they've been sharing lately with this handy little tool!   I'm stoked that Sweet N Sassy Stamps is now offering it in the store!!  Be sure to grab yours!  My project for the hop are two pages in my Psalms Journal.  Both in Psalm 91.  Both pages were started with some distress inks and my gelli plate.  Next, some stencils and ink.  Finally, I am featuring Trust in the Lord from the new release, as well as Singing Praises.

I hope you are inspired by our art and hearts as you journey through the hop!  Your next stop is Lee Ann's blog.  I just know she's going to blow your socks off!  Make sure to leave everyone a little comment love so you have a chance at winning some good love of your own!

I'm sharing a few ideas, today, using Warmth of Christmas.  The front panel is tucked behind an adorable gate, held closed with an evergreen wreath:

The inside panel includes a sentiment and peaceful snowy bench scene.

My second card, also features Warmth of Christmas and Thrill of Hope.  This card makes me think of my nephew and his love of ski hills.  It feels a little weird to be thinking about snow already, but....here in Wisconsin, it's inevitable!!

That's all for me today--make it a great week!  Get inky and be kind,

Be Still and Trust...

Happy September, Sweet Friends!!  It's hard to believe that summer is over already!  We've had such a good summer, but are definitely ready for a new school year and the adventures we will have.

I managed some crafty time over the long holiday weekend and loved playing with the newest release from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.  I started by stenciling, with various Ranger distress inks, this fun mandala on to kraft card stock.  I added another layer of ink with the Texture Tiles One stamp set to create texture.

The sentiment all comes from the brand new Trust in the Lord stamp set available now in the Sweet N Sassy Stamps store.  This is set is perfect for cards, bible journaling, mixed media and.....life in general!

I pray you are blessed with peace, as you trust in the love and care of our Great God--

Sweet N Sassy Stamps + My Sweet Petunia Hop

It's a fabulous day today because Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is joining forces with My Sweet Petunia for an awesome blog hop and giveaway! There's a chance to win a $50 gift code to each shop, so we hope you'll join the fun and hop along with us! To be eligible for the drawing, leave a little shout out in the comments at each stop along the hop.

I own both the original Misti and the Creative Corners--you guys!!!!! Fabulous! As soon as I got my Creative Corners, I just had to play! I grabbed a piece of cardstock with an interesting gelli plate pattern, an alphabet (In Stitches Alphabet), a sentiment (Faith Wordfetti) some cute bird stamps (SOTM, Singing Praises--all from Sweet N Sassy Stamps!) and my Creative Corners. Yikes!! This is just the beginning of a whole new world of stamping potential.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much paper I have messed up and wasted over the years!  My Misti allows me to line things up and practice before adding ink.  It also allows me multiple inkings for the perfect additions to cards, bible journaling and scrapbook pages.

A year ago, at this exact time, I was meeting my oncologist for the first time and hearing the plan that would remove cancer from my body.  There were tests after tests and, what felt like, endless appointments.  I started chemotherapy on the day my mother-in-law passed away.  To say it was a hard year for my family is the biggest understatement.  But God.

He carried me in a way I have never allowed myself to be carried before.  I understand surrender in a different way; a life giving way.  I purposed to be obedient, to be held, and, if it were His will, to be healed.  Shortly after my first chemo treatment, I shaved my head.  Losing my hair was truly the least of my worries, but when it started coming out in handfuls, it was overwhelming.  Shaving my head--it was empowering.

The new Faith Wordfetti set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps, contains almost every thought I had at that time.  "Not today Satan"--I would literally speak it out loud--"get behind me in the name of Jesus" every time my mind was threatened with despair.  I remember sobbing and saying those words in my car on the way to work.  My mantra became "be still and know."  "God is bigger!"  I "live for Him" and "choose joy."

My 8x8 scrap page started with a picture and bible page from a vintage bible I keep on hand for such a purpose.  Behind my big ol' bald head is the scriptures found in Psalm 62:

"For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him.  He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken."

Book ends, Friends!!  My second scrap page features me just weeks ago, July 11th, and my final dose of chemotherapy.  My hair started growing back after December 6th which was when the BIG chemo ended.  After that, it was what they refer to as adjunct treatment--6 months of Herceptin; now, over also!  My med bag came with a little cocktail umbrella which made me laugh.  My younger son came with me that day--I was so glad to have him there.  It was a surprise to me how emotional I became when that last med went in and I realized it was finally over--that part any way.  I now live in a different kind of reality.
It's changed me.  Today, reflecting on the last year, I can honestly say it  has been  more blessing than curse.  What is meant for evil, GOD does transform for His good and perfect purposes.  Glory be to the Great Physician!  May each of my days be given to honor Him.  I adore Sweet N Sassy Stamps for so many reasons, but mostly because of the God honoring product that allows me a platform to share His good news and kindness with others.

I created all of my projects using the MISTI, Creative Corners and Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.  Alphabets featured are:  Sunshine Girl Alpha, Typewriter Block Alpha, Sweet N Simple Alpha and Bitty Mini Alpha.  It's  the time to load up on alphabet stamps with the Sweet Sale happening now.

It is my hope that you enjoy our collaborative hop and are inspired by the projects and the hearts that share them.  Be sure to share YOUR heart with the teams and you'll have a chance to win a great prize!!

For your convenience, here is the hop line up!

August Sweet N Sassy Stamps Hop!!

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps August Release Hop! There's another fabulous release in the SNSS shop that we've been stamping with and we're so excited to share our projects with you! Hop along and leave a little comment love for the designers linked below and you might just be a lucky winnner! One lucky comment from all the comments along the hop will win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, August 21.

My first project is a layout in a prayer journal I've been working in.  I prepped these pages using the newly released Faith Wordfetti and Healer of My Heart.  I added some texture using Texture Tiles 3--also a great way to mask ink smudges!  LOL!

I'm a total sucker for cute whimsical images.  This month's release does not disappoint with this cute Tea for Two set!

I love tea and I love giving gifts....so, why not combine the two?  This first tea bag holder features Tea For Two and Faith Wordfetti.  It's simple little gift to make and give.  Start with a 6x6 piece of two sided designer paper.  Fold two opposing corners to the middle and then fold in half the long way.  Make two additional score lines approximately 1/4" on either side of the middle bottom score.  You can then create an "M" fold and the holder will stand up as shown.  Quick and sweet!

The second tea bag holder allows for more room to decorate with this sweet set and includes a belli band!  It also features Tea for Two and Faith Wordfetti :)

This holder forms a book of tea bags and is secured with the belli band.  You can click on the picture to enlarge the photo and see the details.

From here, you are on your way to Lucinde van Ballegooijen's blog!  Don't forget to leave your comment first to be entered to win a little shopping love in the Sweet N Sassy Store!

Enjoy! Jane

Everything

"Even the sparrow has a place to lay its head
So why would I let worries steal my breath
Even the roses, you have glowed them brilliant red
Still I'm the one You love more than this

You give me everything
You give me everything
You give me everything I need..."

I love Lauren Daigle, you guys!  Her music is so inspiring!  I often play her music on repeat when I am in my studio.  One of her songs (Everything), focuses on Psalm 84:3. It's a beautiful song and reminder of God's provision in our lives.  Recently, I listened to the That Sounds Fun podcast where Annie F Downs interviewed Lauren Daigle.  It is such a lovely and encouraging interview.  I hope you all take the time to enjoy it!

My page, journaled in my Psalms journal, features the following stamp sets, all from Sweet N Sassy Stamps:  Sunshine Girl Alphabet, Words of Life: Action, Singing Praises (the stamp of the month!), and Faith Wordfetti.  I used various distress oxide inks to create the background and then added the rest.  the new Faith Wordfetti set is so amazing and versatile.  If I could, I give one to everyone, I love it that much!
My card also features the Stamp of the Month, Singing Praises--I love coloring that bird!!  I used Healer of My Heart to complete the sentiment.  These stamps are so versatile, they can be used on a card, AND in your bible or other journal.  The possibilities are endless!

I needed these reminders this past week.  Did you too?  He gives us Everything. All that we need, when we need it.  He is always on time.   He will comfort you....and, me too!

Wishing you rich blessings this week,  Jane

Lost and Found

Hello, Sweet Friends!! Today, I am sharing a few projects I created using the Sweet N Sassy Stamps new release The Shepherd's Voice.  This versatile set is perfect for bible journaling, mixed media, card making and more!

I adore the beautiful shepherd and sheep images of this set! Such a beautiful visual to remind us of the way our Heavenly Father cares for us.  I am so thankful for a God who pursues His lost sheep, who has given me opportunity after opportunity to come back to Him.  I am thankful for a God who came for me and took my debit.  I am thankful for a God who now tells me to follow Him, and is patient in my stumblings.  I am thankful for a relentless grace only Christ gives, because I am a relentless vagabond always seeking to jump ship. He is faithful when I am not; He is constant when I am not; He is everything when I am nothing; yet, He says I am His and that is EVERYTHING! (adapted from TB Laberge/She Rises)

My bible journaling (seen above) features The Shepherd's Voice along with Sunshine Girl and Bitty Minnie alphabets.

My card, also features The Shepherd's Voice and the Stamp of the Month, Sentimental Wordfetti.  Jut a little dry embossing, a colored image and a sentiment--quick, simple and perfect for just about any occasion!

Thanks for stopping today; be blessed!

My project for today features the sets Thrill of Hope and Christmas Wishes.  Using water color paper, I started by stamping and embossing the deer images.  I created a circular mask using a piece of copy paper with a circle die cut window.  Next, I added the trees using Ranger distress ink. I sponged ink around the edges and then added the sentiment and some sequins to finish things off.

My second card uses Thrill of Hope along with Home for the Holidays. After stamping and embossing the lab image from Home for the Holidays, I added the trees and several layers of distress inks to create a antique-y look.  Once dry, I added some red glitter glue to sparkle up the trees and some snowflakes.
