Scripture Cards

I'm always looking for new projects and ways to art and tie together the other pieces of my life that I love.  Scripture is, of course, a favorite interest.  I've been collecting my favorite verses in a note book or three for some time.  I decided to get a little more artsy using a file folder die I found while cleaning recently--somewhat like the notion of an artists trading card, but a little bit larger surface to work on.

A while ago, I made several colorful sheets using my Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate.  I knew I had saved them for a reason--this project became the perfect one!

I printed each scripture on card stock and then used Sweet N Sassy stamps, sewing, modge podge and bible pages to create these fun file folder pages.  Excitedly, I share them with my husband whose response was...."Cool!.....what do you do with them?"  Silly man.

The card above features Refresh My Soul stamp set and, from 1 Timothy 1:12, a verse that sums it all up:

"For I know the One in whom I trust and I am sure that He is able."

I AM sure that He is able; the fruit in my life can claim no other explanation!  Stay tuned, as I am getting ready to share more of what my amazing God has done!!

Here are the rest of the cards I've completed so far:

Teacup Roses is currently on deep discount so, if you've been wanting after it, now would be the time!  See all of the discounted sets (there's lots!) HERE.

I'm going to keep going.  I don't know what I will "do with them" just yet.  It's a wonderful work of worship and a great way to memorize the Word.  I'm sure I'll figure out some kind of box or binding eventually.  For right now, in this season of my life, the more Word the better and arting the Word is just a little slice of heaven for me.

Be blessed--Jane

January Scripture Plan

I decided to do some work in my bullet journal as it's been rather neglected lately.  A group of mine is focused on healing scriptures for the month of January.  I wanted to be sure to record each of the verses for reference in one place so, I created this handy calendar layout.

I used two different alphabet sets from Sweet N Sassy Stamps:  In Stitches and Skinny Caps.  The rest of the stamped images are all from Women of Praise--I just love that set!!!

During my recovery, I will be referring to this often.  And, His light will shine and I will be healed, In Jesus' name.

Praise Him!

From Me to You

Sending a little love from me to you while I continue my recovery!  Just a quick card I made experimenting with some inexpensive water color paper a bit ago.  I don't really recommend it, to be honest.  Quality paper is the real deal; a girl's entitled to a low cost "oops" every once in a while.

I started by stamping "love" using Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps' brand new In Stitches Alphabet and then masking them off.  The water color back ground was created using Faber Castell Oil Pastels.  To embellish the rest of the card, I used a sentiment from Keep In Touch, Too  and a cute little heart from Candy Hearts.

From me to you.....Jane

Pizza My Heart....

Today, I'm sharing some artwork I created over the holidays.  I have several artwork only posts I prepared in anticipation of my surgery.  Please know that I continue to covet your prayers over my healing and appreciate each and every one of you.

The January releases at Sweet N Sassy Stamps have been such a blessing to me--a great way to help manage my waiting has been to work in my Studio. These cute and punny images are just the best!!
I mean, c'mon!!  How cute are they??  The card above features Punny Love.  This set is such fun, I could barely put it down!!  It's a simple one layer-ish card that would be easy to mass produce if that's your thing.  I colored the images with various distress inks and an aqua brush.  To make the hearts pop, I added a bit of dimensional glue to each one.  Here's the whole set.....I can't decide which one is my favorite--they're all adorable!

My second card features Heart Candy and has a vintage kind of feel to it.

The minute this set was in my hand, it demanded a shaker box.  So, I pulled out a few old school techniques, such as paper piecing and shaker box making.  Tried and true, good old techniques.  The scallop image running through the red panel is a retired Sweet N Sassy set called Borders and Backgrounds.  I love the candy heart sayings that are perfect for just about anyone!

I continue to remember you in my prayers--that you would be blessed and challenged in this new year in ways that would grow your faith in our Great God.

Peace, Jane

Today.....Let's Pray

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised" Proverbs 31:29

Today is my surgery day, dear friends, please cover me in prayer.  My surgery will involve removal of lymph nodes and immediate biopsy of the removed nodes.  Initially, they are going after three nodes.  It is my prayer that the three test negative for cancer cells; they will stop taking nodes then. If they test "dirty" they will remove all of my lymph nodes.  I know the Great Physician covers me and has a plan.  Regardless of the outcome, I will praise His name for it is His strength and love that has brought me out of darkness time and time again.  And, it is His power and love that will bring me out again.

I've been walking through this storm since August and as hard as it has been at times, it has not been fruitless.  As I draw closer to my God in this struggle, I am continually blessed by His promises kept.  No, I'm not always at peace, anxiety free and accepting.   There is, however, a peace that comes when you finally realize--I mean, really get it--that you are not alone.  We are not promised a pain free life of roses and rainbows. In fact, God's word prepares us for life on this earth---we are told there will be trouble; we will suffer.  But, God.  We do not walk alone and He is a very present help in our struggle; He is the anchor in every storm.  He has shown Himself over and over. He is so patient; constantly pursing, comforting, powerful, faithful.  Who am I that He should care for me?  That part is simple.  I am His child.  I belong to Him and oh, how He loves me.  He loves you too.  He's waiting for you.  Seek Him.  You will find Him.  I'm sure about few things in this life, but of this, I am absolutely positive; without a doubt, certain.

My artwork features the stamp set Teacup Roses--both the image and the sentiment.  The book of Proverbs is an encouraging and instructional book.  Today, I'm not in full agreement with the verse simply because it is the Lord who should be praised.  Anything praise worthy in me is because of Him.

I'll be praying over all of my warriors yesterday, today and tomorrow. I thank you, in advance for your prayers.  I appreciate each one of them and feel the covering you offer.

In Him, Jane

You're My Jam

Sometimes, you just need a little break from the heavy of life. You know what I mean? I'm percolating on some truths that I want to share; I've got some more "heavy" coming up in this fight I've got going on, but for a few more days......I just want a break.

So, I'm sharing some art and a super fun new set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps!   Seriously, THE cutest set and so addicting.  I can barely stop myself.  I just want to stamp all day!

Super simple card.  A little designer paper, die cut a window for my sentiment and a couple stamped images to embellish with.  If you don't have a stamp positioner tool, get one!  It was super easy to manipulate my stamps using a simple omit technique and my stamp positioner--MISTI was the original, Stampin' Up! now has one, Tim Holtz has one......you cannot go wrong with this tool!

I always have to do a double take of this close up because the "jam" looks a bit like gummy bears to me...maybe a companion set in the works???  I'd buy it!  LOL!

Thanks for taking a break with me; thanks for sticking around for it all the good, the bad, the heavy--

Warmest Wishes....

Happy New Year!!!  I'm cleaning out my "to share" folder today with a few cards I created using images from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.  One of my favorite stamping things to do is find cards I love (usually on Pintrest) and recreate them with stamps I already own.  Waaaaaayyyyyy back in the day, when I first started stamping, I had to buy the exact same stamps and inks and embellishments to recreate the cards I loved.  It's actually a great way to learn about how product works, to get a feel for stamping and locate your mojo.  Some people are offended when their designs are copied, but I hold to the old adage---it's the highest compliment!

The card above features both Thrill of Hope and Christmas Wishes.  I kind of womp at sending out Christmas cards....well, I sorta womp at sending cards period.  Which is really ironic since I create tons of them.  If I were into resolutions, I may resolve to send more, but really, I'll probably still womp.  But.......I digress.  My point was, the Warmest Wishes sentiment from this set is perfect for wompers like me---I finally did sent this one out as a New Year's wishes card--perfect and versatile.

This card features the retired set, Bottom of My Heart,  Wood Background and All About You.  I finally pulled out my Faber Castel Oil Pastels to create the water colored back ground.  Using a resist technique with the wood slice image, the water color back ground is the perfect splash of color for this simple card.

I love the colors in this card!  It features Wood Background, Whimsy Bouquet, Itty Bitty Blossoms, Texture Tiles One and Scripty Thoughts.  In this day and age with dies and fancy machines that die cut your images, I still love me some good old fashion fussy cutting.  It's a great stress reliever for me!

Thanks for stopping by!!
