Stop, Drop and....

Just a quick little message for today from me and Sweet 'N Sassy stamps!  You're going to make it--the weekend is almost is tough, but you are tougher and the One Who Created You is covering you!
Stop, Drop and Pray!  Also available immediately in digital form

Same stamp, two completely different looks.  The second card also features an embossed background I created using Scribble Flowers.  I used distress inks and some daubers to color the heat embossed images.

Be blessed--Jane

My Favorite Things

Happy Monday!  Today, I'm sharing a fun birthday card I made for one of my kiddo's friends featuring some of my new favorite things from My Favorite Things--what a great name for a company!!  I was super excited to get a chance to use my new Blueprints 26 from MFT.  I bought it when it was a Wednesday Blitz item--super good deal!! All of the die cuts are from that one dynamic set--how cool is that?  I love all the little details.

The pink balloon is a shaker...yes, I need some practice in the sewing department, but I think it was pretty good first attempt.  It always makes me happy when I can bring out my little Janome' machine--even happier when I actually manage a reasonable stitch!

My Favorite Things. Check it out!

Have a great day--Jane

No Words....

Happy Monday!  The recent holidays have been great and an excellent reminder of how precious family and friend time is.  I've had several opportunities to spend time with my parents in the last few weeks.  That doesn't always happen as we live a distance apart.  Distance and busy are my constant enemies!

I wanted to get some of the new releases from Sweet 'N Sassy stamps inky so, I made this card for my parents to let them know how much I value them and our time together.  The sentiment, from Thoughtful Words, continues to the inside and reads (in full) "No words can describe how thankful I am for you."

The central image comes from the Through The Trees set.  You can pre-order this set right now!  I started by stamping the birch tree image on water color paper and then adding some sky and grass water colors.  I framed the tree image with cardstock that I cut an oval out of and then added some stenciling.  I sponged some and then added a bit more with a paint brush--it got kind of splotchy, which I think looks cool.

After stamping the sentiment, I added a bird (a heron, I think--of the great blue variety?) from the January Stamp of the month set,  Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands.  It's kind of an earthy card--I think my folks will love it!

Have yourself an inky kind of day :)  TTFN, Jane

Sweet Trees

It's time to shift out of holiday card making!  I won't's a tough shift.  I haven't yet recovered from the holiday season.  I'm grateful to have Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps, wonderful stamp company, to work with that keeps me motivated and challenged.

Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps recently released Scene Silhouettes: Trees (and a few other wonderful sets) that has me a little outside of my comfort zone.  Today, I'm sharing round one.  I've stuck mostly to the barren tree and evergreen--consistent with the season.  It's -12 here today so, the full trees of spring & summer are just going to have to wait....but, here's the full set and then, some inspiration:

These two cards also feature the new Thoughtful Words set. See below for a look at the whole set.
The "happy birthday" sentiment is found in the Keep In Touch, Too.

Enjoy the New Year, be crafty!
