Warmest Wishes....

Happy New Year!!!  I'm cleaning out my "to share" folder today with a few cards I created using images from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.  One of my favorite stamping things to do is find cards I love (usually on Pintrest) and recreate them with stamps I already own.  Waaaaaayyyyyy back in the day, when I first started stamping, I had to buy the exact same stamps and inks and embellishments to recreate the cards I loved.  It's actually a great way to learn about how product works, to get a feel for stamping and locate your mojo.  Some people are offended when their designs are copied, but I hold to the old adage---it's the highest compliment!

The card above features both Thrill of Hope and Christmas Wishes.  I kind of womp at sending out Christmas cards....well, I sorta womp at sending cards period.  Which is really ironic since I create tons of them.  If I were into resolutions, I may resolve to send more, but really, I'll probably still womp.  But.......I digress.  My point was, the Warmest Wishes sentiment from this set is perfect for wompers like me---I finally did sent this one out as a New Year's wishes card--perfect and versatile.

This card features the retired set, Bottom of My Heart,  Wood Background and All About You.  I finally pulled out my Faber Castel Oil Pastels to create the water colored back ground.  Using a resist technique with the wood slice image, the water color back ground is the perfect splash of color for this simple card.

I love the colors in this card!  It features Wood Background, Whimsy Bouquet, Itty Bitty Blossoms, Texture Tiles One and Scripty Thoughts.  In this day and age with dies and fancy machines that die cut your images, I still love me some good old fashion fussy cutting.  It's a great stress reliever for me!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Thoughtful Thanks

Happy Monday, Sweet Friends!  I'm saving my wordy post for Wednesday of this week--please don't miss it.  It includes an update and a piece of art I'm pretty proud of.  Today, I'm just kicking off a week of thankfulness with this quick card I made to use up few pieces of scrap.

Desperate to play with my new Winter Birds set from Sweet 'N Sassy stamps, but lacking energy and sticktoitiveness, I went with this quick easy, scrap using layout and I can't say I'm disappointed.  The most fun was watercoloring that cute little cardinal from the Winter Birds.

I also used, from Sweet 'N Sassy:  Whimsy Bouquet, Scribble Flowers and Keep In Touch, Too.

Have a great week--be blessed and be a blessing!

Wishing You Happiness

Happy Thursday, Sweet Friends!  I had fun creating this flowery resist card with some goodies from my Sweet 'N Sassy Stamp stash!  I actually do own lots of other stamps, but find that I mostly use SNSS because the images are just so inspiring.  I should really challenge myself to use a variety of goodies!

I created a resist by masking and stamping several images from Scribble Flowers:
and Whimsy Bouquet:
After stamping with versa mark, I heat embossed the images using white emboss powder.  Later, I water colored using several distress inks (Fossilized Amber, Festive Berries and and Pine Needles).

I added the sentiment from the So Happy to finish things off.  I love how bold the sentiment is--just pops right off the card!

A Mother's Love

Happy Friday!!  It's a very special Friday in my world since today is my momma's birthday!  I know she reads my blog, so I don't want to spoil it by sharing her birthday card, just yet.  It is, however, the perfect day to share a series of cards that celebrate A Mother's Love; and feature the new Sweet and Sassy Stamp set by the same name.

A few weekends ago, I got out my Gelliarts gelli plate and made a slew of backgrounds.  Friends, this a seriously addicting tool!  It's so much fun to combine colors, textures and whatever else you can think of.  Each pressing is unique.  It's kind of like opening a gift each time; you never know what you are going to get!

This final card also features a resist panel and the Whimsy Bouquet set.  I love all of the silhouette images.  So sweet and full of memories for me when some of my favorite people were small.

Happy Birthday, Granny!
