Refresh My Soul

I recently attended a conference where we talked about the importance of connecting with creation.  I recall my dad often taking us to tromp through the woods.  I loved those crisp fall days and noticing the mushrooms and other seed pods as we hiked a trail here or there.  Planted seeds.....I love being in nature (although I HATE bugs!!) and always find it refreshing to my soul.  It restores, I think.
I've lately been obsessed a bit with succulents. And, just like my dad, I wanted to share this interest with my kiddos.  That cute girl in the photo, my daughter Sophie, she likes to name her plants...Brian, Steve....lol, she's a hoot!
Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps came out with this fabulous stamp set just in the nic of time!! Refresh My Soul was the perfect choice to use for this sweet 8 x 8 scrapbook layout.  Also used, Bitty Minnie Alpha and Mini Grunge Type Alpha.

Thinking of You

Thinking of you.....today, I'm featuring the Sweet 'N Sassy Stamp of the Month along with my current favorite set, Refresh My Soul!!

These two sets together make quick work of crafting beautiful cards!  To complete this one, I stamped a few of the images from Refresh My Soul and masked them, adding a few more images.  Each image is colored using distress inks and an aqua brush.

When the images were completely dried, I floated some water color sky and ground around the images.  Using the Stamp of the Month, Scripty Thoughts, I added a sentiment and then a few sequins and staples for a simple one layer card full of color!

Enjoy!!  TTFN--Jane

Bloom

Happy Tuesday, Friends!!  Today, I have a mixed media canvas to share.  It was so much fun to make--and, pretty simple, too!

I started with a 3 x 3 canvas, a stencil and some embossing paste.  While still wet, I sprayed the embossing paste with a variety of Dylusion sprays,  I let that dry completely (several days).  Next, I added several of the images found in the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Refresh My Soul stamp set.  I stamped on a heavy weight cardstock and heat embossed each image.  Rather than coloring the images (the background was already super colorful), I added just a bit of glitter glue to the containers and cacti blooms.

A few sequins and "Bloom" (from the same set) finish things off.  The perfect give for a plant loving friend of mine!!
