Isn’t it Romantic?

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps December Release Hop. Hop along with us as we share our projects with the fabulous December release! Don't forget to leave a little comment love for the designers linked below for a chance to be entered into our giveaway drawing for a $25 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, December 23.

I'm sharing a few projects featuring the Vintage Romance set.

The sentiment is from My Punny Valentine--these images are just so sweet and quite fun to color, too!

One of my favorite projects, however, with this set is my latest Memory Dex card.

The front of the memory dex card is a pocket that holds an insert I created using a picture of my kids and a tag die.  Walk in love--I just love that and have been dwelling on and studying what that really means.  Reading from the ESV, the directive to "Beloved Children" struck a cord with me.

The picture I used is from several years ago, but it's still one of my all time favorites of my all time favorites.

The Prayer Time set is perfect for big projects or small.  I used it inside my tag.  The cry of my mother's heart will always be for my children to know the fullness of God's love and their faith.

I always include a specific scripture when I'm creating a memory dex card.  It's a great way for me to both memorize and dwell on the Word.  Lately, I've been camping in Ephesians.
The back of this card bears Ephesians 5:2.  "And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."  It begins with the loving directive to "be imitators of God, as beloved children."  We are His beloved children.  In my flawed, imperfectness, I love my children more than my life.  How much more my Father in Heaven, in all perfection loves me; loves you!!!

I hope you are feeling loved and inspired!!  Thank you for joining our hop!  Your next stop is Karen's blog--just wait until you see what she has in store!!

Thanks for stopping; may you be richly blessed and know the fullness of God's love for you--Jane

November Release Hop-Sweet N Sassy Stamps

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps November Release Hop! We're celebrating 13 years of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month! Hop along with us as we celebrate and share our projects from the fabulous November release with you! Don't forget to leave a little comment love for the designers linked below for a chance to be entered into our giveaway drawing for a $25 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, November 25.

The November release has been super fun to play around with!  I had been missing the long retired set, Birthday Bash for quite some time (who remembers that one??).  The new Make a Wish and Bold Birthdays are the perfect remix and blend of new for lots of great celebration creations!!

I used a variety of ink pads to create this fun background.  The rainbow sentiment was easy to make using the same ink pads and my MISTI stamp positioning tool.  I could not stamp with out that thing!

Those two desserts are super fun to color--and, they make me hungry!  I stamped each on water color paper and used distress inks to watercolor.

Don't forget to leave some love--you could be the winner of a $25 gift card--how cool is that?

You're off to see what Karen is sharing--enjoy the rest of the hop!

October Recap--Sweet N Sassy Stamps

Hello!!!  I'm irritated with myself as I've become a very irresponsible blogger!!  I'm out here loving life and finding that I'd much rather make and send cards than talk about them.  I have been using my instagram also (stampymom5) as it seems like a much easier/quicker platform to share in.  BUT, I'm going to use one post to get caught up with my Sweet N Sassy Stamps shares and attempt to be much better in the coming months, in using my blog.

The first two cards in this post feature the Welcome Home set, along with sentiments from Christmas Wordfetti and Friendship is a Blessing.  I've also used Christmas Text Background.

These cute little gnomes are sure to steal your heart:

Sets used:  Winter Gnomes, Snow Much Fun and All About You

I also managed some bible journaling in October featuring I Am, Name Above All Names, Note This and The Good News.

I'll see you again soon! (fingers crossed)  Jane

Battles

Hey, Friends!!  I wanted to pop on the blog today because I realize, I just haven't been. Some things have fallen away for me in this last season; unfortunately blogging has been one of them. Instagram has become a quicker platform for me to share my art when I'm lacking words.  And, this most recent season of all things different and covid has often left me without words.  If you want to follow me on Instagram, I sure would love to meet you there. You can find me @stampymom5

I spent some time in 2 Timothy when I created this bible journal page.  Truthfully, I didn't love it and wasn't planning to share it.  The ink is messy and dirty looking--off balance and not what I wanted.  It doesn't line up and certainly wasn't at all what I had in mind.  Kinda just like life. Right?  So, I decided to share it anyway because, art reflects life and likely no more so than in this offering and a time such as this.

In a world full of division and strife; in the healing and the hurting, I pray you will be encouraged by Paul's words:

Soldier of Christ--be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus!

Share in suffering, aiming to please the One who has enlisted you!

The Lord will give you understanding in everything.  Seek Him.  Paul provides much encouragement and direction for us with his words which are just as relevant today as they were when he wrote them.    I hope that you will spend some time with Paul soaking it in.

Stamps sets from Sweet N Sassy Stamps that I used include:  Grace Upon GraceThe  Lord's Battle  and Texture Tiles 1

Thanks for stopping; may you see the faithfulness of our Lord today and for all the tomorrows, Jane

My second card is made with the Stamp of the Month, Coffee Talk set.  It's so cute--it just makes me giggle!

My final card uses the new GG: Christian Love digi and a sentiment from Be Encouraged.

PSA: Do Something

So... I got this card from a dear friend of mine.  The words inside are as beautiful as the front of the card.  It caused me pause and some reflection on my journey.

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer—just writing that brings me some joy….”a few years ago……”  It's been a long journey, but PRAISE GOD that I am now walking 18 months of cancer free!!  But, I digress.  During that time, I used my blog to share my journey and, most specifically, how my God showed up and met with me in the middle of the storm; the truths I had heard of, but had now come to know in a very clear and personal way.

I haven’t used my blog recently in the same way, but thought today I would give it ago.  I participated in a conversation with some other survivors recently who were encouraging another crafter. She had a newly diagnosed friend who she wanted to reach out to.  Overwhelming the feedback in that conversation was “do something.”  Today, I want to encourage you to do something too.

I understand the well meaning and compassionate offer of “if you need anything, let me know.”  I’ve said this many times myself.  It’s used as a way of saying I care about your struggle, I’m not sure how to help, but I want to.  The problem is, in a storm—you just have no idea what you need.

And, then, I got this little card.  And it reminded me of much.  During chemotherapy, people fed my family, sent cards with beautiful prayers written inside, took my kids to do the things I couldn’t do with them—like shop for a special outfit for a school activity.  Sometimes I asked and honestly, my people never disappointed.  I already knew that about them and love them for it that much more.  However, the things that really made me break down and reminded me I was loved, and CONVINCED ME OF JESUS IN MY LIFE, were the things I didn’t ask for.  The requests I didn’t even know to make—the books encouraging my fight, prayer journals, gift cards for meals, handmade gifts….it’s a long list.  The things, however, are not my point.

My point is:  do something.  People are hurting all over this crazy world of ours for so many reasons, both obvious and then, not so much.  We talk and talk about how we need more kindness.  My friends, that starts with you.  Today.  And, again tomorrow.  Let’s all do something.  Let’s be the hands and feet to others—the ones we know but, more importantly, the ones we don’t know.  Let’s take LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR off the shelf of cute t-shirt designs and catchy phrases and actually LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS.  I dare you.

It’s starts with this.  A cute card, a word of encouragement.  An intentional seeking of opportunity to connect with the people that you meet when your walking down the street (pretty sure that’s a song because it’s now on a loop in my head!)  Those sad eyes peeking out from above that face mask?  She’s there.  He hurts.  They are afraid.

Be kind and do.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.  For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.  But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”  James 1:  22-25

The perfect law….the law of liberty is Jesus.  He did.  He does.  He will.

If you'd like more information about my beautiful friend and card, you can read her blog post also 😍

Have a blessed holiday weekend!  Do something ❤

I always love an opportunity to use release stamps for some home decor!  Dazzling Dahlia was the perfect image for this 6 x 6 canvas.

I started by covering the canvas with bible pages.  Then, I created the colorful background using a stencil and some colored textured paste.  To finish things off, I added some sequins and "flourish" from Refresh My Soul

I am super loving the use of black and white images against a more colorful background.  The  background on this card features the Psalm 23 background along with the clock image and sentiment from this months Stamp of the Month, Time Well Spent.  The flower and leaf images are from Consider The Wildflowers

Ruff....

Happy Sunday!  I'm still playing along with the Spring Summer Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Hop.  I don't shop a huge number of stores--I have my favorites, you know.  There is so much goodness out in stamp land!  I have to be discerning and really watch myself!   BUT.....I saw this sweet image from The Rabbit Hole Designs and just could not resist!  How funny is this guy?

I used several random images to create my background and then added some sweet little wooden hearts I bought a few eons ago from.....Stampin' Up! I think.  Yes, I can always make a case for hoarding!!

I hope you are having a great holiday weekend and find some time for whatever it is that restores your soul--

Jesus and Coffee

Happy Friday, Friends!  I wanted to play along in the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  Any reason to play with my two favorite themes is good with me!

I combined a bunch of stamps from Sweet N Sassy Stamps to create my card.  I wanted to add a pocket on the front for a little something different and to show off the library card from Your Story clear stamp set.  I added more elements using Jesus & Coffee, Just Say Jesus and Encouraging Thoughts.  Encouraging Thoughts is the FREE stamp of the month (with qualifying purchase) for the month of May--there's still time!!

The large coffee cup image is from one of my long favorite sets, Fill Me Up.  I was totally stoked when dies became available for this set, too.  I know there are fancy machines out there that will cut just about anything, but I am old school and prefer the steel dies every time.

Pray big and just say Jesus and coffee!
