Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to one of my most favorite people in all this world!!!  My pops is celebrating today so, if you see him, be sure to wish him a great day!!

Isn't he just the sweetest?  He is, hands down, the kindest, most generous, understanding and interesting person I know.  And, I know a lot of kind, interesting, understanding generous people--I love him so much!

I wanted to create a special card for him and did so using elements from several Sweet 'N Sassy stamp sets.  Here are the sets I used:

You can check them all out in the Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps store--be sure to check out all the deals, too!

Have a great day with the day you've been given--Be Awesome!  Jane

Brotherly Love

Oh, Boy.  This kid.  I love him with my whole heart!  Happy Monday, folks......it's going to be a fun week around here with baseball championships!  It also means the season is coming to a close.....which is always a bummer, but soccer is just around the corner--wouldn't want to have too much down time....lol!

I'm really getting into scrap booking again--Sweet N Sassy Stamp's Brotherly Love makes it all sorts of simple!  I recall, back in the heyday of my prime scrapping--I'd search forever for the exact piece of paper and the perfect embellishment.  Now, I have it all right at my fingertips with just a few stamp sets and my hoarded stash of paper!

To complete the above 8 x 8 page, I used Brotherly Love, Shake It Off Lowercase Alphabet, Bitty Minnie Alpha, Mini Grunge Type Alpha and Scripty Thoughts (All from Sweet N Sassy Stamps--check it out!)

I'm really loving SNSS's Brotherly Love set!  It makes awesome cards too!!  I made this one for my pops for Father's Day.  It was a lot of fun creating the various characters for the card front.  I had the Brady Bunch stuck in my mind when I started.....quite the departure from my first thought, but it all worked out in the end.  The image in the center of the card is from Super Dad.  Now IS the time to grap that set for $5!!  Be sure to check out all of the $5 sets--Don't miss out!

Be Awesome--Jane

Celebrate

Happy Monday!!  I wanted to share a few recent cards I made to celebrate all kinds of good things going on this summer!  Graduations, birthdays, Father's Day....lots of fun stuff!

The above card features the new release, Free Indeed, from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps!  I embossed the firework image on kraft card stock and then applied various distress inks to make the image pop.  To complete the card, I added images from Love Your Neighbor.  I stamped the images on water color paper and used the same inks to add color before trimming and adding to the card.  You'll find "celebrate" in the sweet Rebecca Rios set, also from SNSS, called Fly High.

My second card also features the firework image from Free Indeed and is combined with images from Congrats Grad.  To color this card, I used Brusho pigment powders for a vibrant pop of color.  I finished the card by adding Distress Glaze which really polishes the colors and keeps them vibrant even after drying.  Be sure to check things out over at Sweet N Sassy Stamps--it's customer appreciation week and that only means good things for you!!

I hope your summer is filled with fun times and some relaxation too!

Be Awesome, Jane

Be Flamazing!

Happy Monday, Sweet Peeps!  It's been flamazing in my little neck of the world lately.  Schools out and that means my number one is home for the summer--good for this momma's heart!  My second child graduated from high school and bought her first car --all in the span of two days!!  Yikes!!

In a busy life, one of my greatest sources of relaxation and restoration is creating with goodies from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.  June's release is super fantastic--I cannot get enough of the Be A Flamingo stamp set.

I created a resist by heat embossing the background piece and using various Brusho inks.  I love the way it turned out--Brusho's are finicky (or maybe its my skill level) but I love that in some ways. Life is often unexpected and you have to deal with what you've got--right?  You just never quite know until you get there!  I doubt I could recreate this background again, but--that's part of the fun of art--of each piece, every one is unique!  Just like us!

For my second card, I created a background of leaves and flowers, again, using Versamark Ink.  Using my new Lovely Words die (recently retired from Stampin' Up!), I created  a die cut window to show off that fancy bird again!  I love her.  Inked in white or black, she makes a statement--Be Flamazing!!

Have a great day!! Make it Flamazing--Jane
