More Awesome

Happy Monday!

I stepped out of my box a bit this weekend to create this 8 x 10 canvas--it features Alicia's Funky Doll from I Brake For Stamps.  It's a different look for me--different from the soft florals and cutesy princess girls.  It's edgy......I think.  I like it!

I started with a seafoam painted canvas, adding more color with gelatos and my PITT Big Brush pens.  I stenciled the scrolling black flourish using paint and an old stencil from Stampin Up!

My funky doll was stamped onto gesso covered designer paper and trimmed.  Using super tiny brads, I put the doll together. Normally, I modge podge images to my canvas' but this one I wanted to keep kinetic--only the torso is tightly secured to the canvas.  The doll face was stamped onto a piece of gesso covered book page and pieced together.  I added a bit of color to the face using distress markers.

To finish things off, I added a few more details with Grunge Flowers like this and this.   And, Grunge Backgrounds

My sentiment, stamped on piece of golden colored designer paper, is AWESOME and can be found at Unity Stamp Co.

Coffee...Yes, Please!

......coffee........need I say more?  Just playing around with some new Stampin' Up! goodies!

Stamp Sets:   Perfect Blend, Handcarved and Tape It.

I cannot seem to get enough from my Distress Inks lately :)  I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmelade and Wild Honey.  A little paper piecing and some sequin bling--all done!

Have a great day!

Enjoy The Simple Things- I Brake For Stamps!

Happy Monday! It seems as though summer might be winding down......school is starting, the temperatures are starting to turn....It's a good time to remind you to take time and enjoy life! It's also a good reason to pull out an enchanting image from this beach themed stamp sheet from I Brake For Stamps, one last time!

To create my image panel, I partially cut the oval shaped window with a nestabilitie die and trimmed the remaining image with scissors. I colored the background with Distress Markers and then, misted the panel. When it was completely dry, I finished coloring the image wiht Copic markers.

Just makes me want to grab a book and read on the beach.....

Listen To Your Heart Song

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing my most recent canvas today.....I made this one for my middle child.  I love the sentiment and think it's a good message for us all!!

If you can't quite read it, it says:

"make the time to listen to your heartsong.....trust in it and make it sing"

You can find it here at Unity Stamp Co!  Also used on this canvas is a favorite image from Suzi Blu and Unity Stamps, Chickadee & Me and Hollyhocks by Donna Downey.

Also used, a large floral stencil, paints, gelatos, grunge stamps from Tim Holtz, and image from my June Layers of Life kit (it's part of the canvas background)  and washi tape.

I stamped and embossed the Hollyhock images and then fussy cut them out before adhering to the canvas---it was very theraputic!  The Chickadee & Me image is also pieced together to add dimension and layers.

I've already got the itch to start another one.......
