I recently attended a conference where we talked about the importance of connecting with creation. I recall my dad often taking us to tromp through the woods. I loved those crisp fall days and noticing the mushrooms and other seed pods as we hiked a trail here or there. Planted seeds.....I love being in nature (although I HATE bugs!!) and always find it refreshing to my soul. It restores, I think.
I've lately been obsessed a bit with succulents. And, just like my dad, I wanted to share this interest with my kiddos. That cute girl in the photo, my daughter Sophie, she likes to name her plants...Brian, Steve....lol, she's a hoot!
Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps came out with this fabulous stamp set just in the nic of time!! Refresh My Soul was the perfect choice to use for this sweet 8 x 8 scrapbook layout. Also used, Bitty Minnie Alpha and Mini Grunge Type Alpha.

Thinking of You
Thinking of you.....today, I'm featuring the Sweet 'N Sassy Stamp of the Month along with my current favorite set, Refresh My Soul!!
These two sets together make quick work of crafting beautiful cards! To complete this one, I stamped a few of the images from Refresh My Soul and masked them, adding a few more images. Each image is colored using distress inks and an aqua brush.
When the images were completely dried, I floated some water color sky and ground around the images. Using the Stamp of the Month, Scripty Thoughts, I added a sentiment and then a few sequins and staples for a simple one layer card full of color!
Enjoy!! TTFN--Jane

Bloom
Happy Tuesday, Friends!! Today, I have a mixed media canvas to share. It was so much fun to make--and, pretty simple, too!
I started with a 3 x 3 canvas, a stencil and some embossing paste. While still wet, I sprayed the embossing paste with a variety of Dylusion sprays, I let that dry completely (several days). Next, I added several of the images found in the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Refresh My Soul stamp set. I stamped on a heavy weight cardstock and heat embossed each image. Rather than coloring the images (the background was already super colorful), I added just a bit of glitter glue to the containers and cacti blooms.
A few sequins and "Bloom" (from the same set) finish things off. The perfect give for a plant loving friend of mine!!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the momma's out there--birth moms, foster moms, momma's whose babies live in Heaven, and spiritual moms! A momma heart is unique and fierce, full of a love that is like no other. It's my most favorite calling and my happiest place, but boy, is it a tough job!!
I created my card starting with a unique piece of background paper made using my Gelli plate. I love that thing! I stamped over the pattern with Rose Banner from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps using my stamp positioner. Love that thing too! It's like a dream--always a crisp, perfect image! I embossed the roses as well. I was then able to layer in lots of color using distress inks.
My sentiment is from A Mother's Love:

Wishing You Happiness
Happy Thursday, Sweet Friends! I had fun creating this flowery resist card with some goodies from my Sweet 'N Sassy Stamp stash! I actually do own lots of other stamps, but find that I mostly use SNSS because the images are just so inspiring. I should really challenge myself to use a variety of goodies!
I created a resist by masking and stamping several images from Scribble Flowers:
and Whimsy Bouquet:
After stamping with versa mark, I heat embossed the images using white emboss powder. Later, I water colored using several distress inks (Fossilized Amber, Festive Berries and and Pine Needles).
I added the sentiment from the So Happy to finish things off. I love how bold the sentiment is--just pops right off the card!

Sweet Birthday Wishes
OH My Gosh, you guyssssss!!!!!!!!!! I'm totally in love with the new release from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps this month!! You can see it all (and pre-order the whole bundle at a SAVINGS now through May 9th!) over in the SNSS Store! Be sure to check out the Company Blog and the Creative Worship Blog also for more inspiration with this fantastic release!
Since it's been a while since I've created a 3D item, I decided to have a little dimensional fun right off the bat. I was immediately struck by this fun little tag from the Bitty Minnie Alpha and just had to make a sweet treat box to show it off in style!
I started by stamping the tag, end to end, with just a little space (it's about an inch) between. Not the greatest picture, but wanted you to see how simple it is!
I added the succulent, from Refresh My Soul, first and then masked it off before stamping the second tag. I am all about the succulents lately--my kiddos and I have been having a blast creating terrariums (I'll be sharing these in an upcoming post!) The new Refresh My Soul set has SOOOOO MANY possibilities, I am totally in love!
To create the "box" that holds a few pieces of candy, I cut a one inch strip of matching card stock and scored it to fit inside the two tags:
The "box" measures approximately 1 3/4" on each long side and 1" on the short sides. To complete the tag, I used Refresh My Soul and Scripty Thoughts to embellish. Scripty Thoughts is the May Stamp of the Month and yours FREE with a $75 order this month only!!
A few pieces of chocolate and one super sweet, little gifty is all set to go!
So many possibilities!!
