Today is my favorite day. Some people find it odd.....being Good Friday and all. It's my favorite day to go to Church. It's the day we recall the most precious gift of all. It's not the only day of the year I think about what Christ did on that cross....for me...for you. I think about that every day. It's the day I fully feel it. All of it. What a sinner I am. And, that He would die for me. For me? He died that I may live. He died. For me. He died. For you.
'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. So sweet, indeed, Jane

Because He Lives....
Happy Tuesday, Sweet Friends! Sooner or later, the spring will come--don't you think? I can just about see it...flowers and butterflies and birds all around....
For my first card, I started with a piece of glossy card stock. Using Whimsy Bouquet, I randomly stamped and embossed several images from the set. I colored the panel using a dauber and Ranger Distress Oxide inks. I am really diggin' those inks and all the beautiful vibrant colors. I added a sentiment from Timeless Hymns and one of the butterflies from New Creature to finish things off.
For my second card, I used an emboss resist technique along with some color burst powders. I love how the background turned out with all the color layers. All of the feathers, from His Wings, are embossed. When everything was cooled and dry, I used the script image from Texture Tiles 1 (yours FREE with a $75 purchase!) to add some extra interest.
I created the sentiment strip using Timeless Hymns and His Wings. Hurry, you only have a few more days to make this great FREE set yours!

No Matter How Long the Winter
Who besides me is looking forward to seeing a few of these beautiful daffodils in the yard or park? Our recent warming trend has me thinking of flowers and baseball games!
I wanted a simple card that strictly featured the daffodil flower from Sweet 'N Sassy's Spring Blossom set. To begin, I stamped and embossed the daffodil on kraft cardstock. I colored the flower by blending a few Prisma colored pencils. I love how that white flower just pops off the cardstock. I used an x-acto blade to cut out one of the flower petals just far enough to slip the bordering die beneath it. I then embossed on a rubber pad to create the impression without cutting all the way through. Finally, I added the sentiment which can be found on the same Spring Blossom set.
For the second card, I chose a more colorful scheme that includes some pattern paper, watermark stamping and some glittery bling! This card also features Timeless Hymns, which is also available at Sweet 'N Sassy stamps for preorder right now. This is such a great set--so many great hymns--you can sing and create all at the same time! To add texture and interest behind the focal flower, I used a watermark ink to stamp the flower several times and then added a few of the texture images from Texture Tiles 1. TT1 is the FREE with purchase set this month over at Sweet 'N Sassy and is yours for FREE with a $75 order. Check it out!!
Have a great day!! TTFN--Jane

No Spring Skips Its Turn
Happy Thursday! I’m thinking my week might need some flowers and the promise of spring. How about you?
I created this mixed media card using several new goodies from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps, including the FREE stamp of the month:
Texture Tiles 1 is FREE with your purchase of $75! How super cool is that? This is the perfect set for adding that finishing touch and for creating super cool backgrounds!
I used Ranger distress inks, water coloring techniques and some gold texture paste to complete my card. It features the Spring Blossoms set, also from Sweet 'N Sassy. I can't wait until my little neck of the woods is sporting flowers for real!!

Great Is Thy Faithfulness
I'm so excited about the new release from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps! The brand new Timeless Hymns set is contagious--I cannot look at this set with out finding a song in my heart. I love it! Worship is my very favorite and this set is such a great tribute to some of my most favorite hymns. Singing makes me want to get arty so, I made this sweet little 3 x 3 canvas to feature some of my newest goodies!
I combined a sentiment from the Timeless Hymns set with the beautiful daffodil found in the Spring Blossoms set to create my mixed media canvas. It makes me happy and hopeful just looking at it despite the blanket of deep snow that still covers my outside. Little by little we are seeing some melt....I can barely wait to see the first flowers poking through....it'll happen soon!
To make the canvas, I first applied a layer of gesso and then added the stamped image. To color the back ground, I used a Faber-Castell PITT pen and then moved the color around with my fingers. I love how this created a shadowy effect. I added color to the flower in much the same way. To add some extra interest, I used the Stamp of the Month from Sweet 'N Sassy, Texture Tiles 1. It's the featured free with purchase set for March:
You'll get this set--which is so versatile--FREE with your purchase of $75 or more! This set is perfect for adding that last little something, the final touch!
Enjoy! Jane
