Cute Unity Stamp Co!

Adorable is the only way to describe this cute 'Lil Panda Chick!  Does everyone have a favorite animal? The Panda would certainly be mine!  I remember, as a small child, thinking I'd be able to have one as a pet when I got older....LOL!! Imagine my suprise with the whole endangered species thing!

I'm playing around with some chevron stylings--cutting a banner shape for the image piece, embossed chevron on the background piece and my brand new chevron punch from Stampin' Up!  A little baker's twine and some copic coloring, I'm all set!

I'm just in love with this little guy and Unity Stamp Co!  He's super affordable--so, go check him out.  It's a great time to shop Unity--check out the 16,000 FB Friends Sale!!

I Brake For Giraffes

Giraffes always make me think of my sweet Gramma Reggie.  She loved these strange, unique animals and collected them in many forms (wall hangings, figurines).  As soon as I saw this stamp sheet, I was drawn to the giraffe images.  I love the scripty (yes, it's a word!) look and, of course....the baby in it's parents' shadow!  Love, Love, Love!

The "Happy Birthday Wishes" is also found on the same sheet.  To complete my project, I fashioned a raised background with an embossing folder and some ink that looks giraffey (yes, a word!!).  I added some subtle edging to the momma giraffe with a sponge and distress ink; she's also cut out and popped up for extra dimension.

I Am More.....

Not the greatest picture, but this is my latest canvas. It's the largest canvas I've done so far, 12 x 12. All of the stamped images are from Unity Stamp Co. They are: She Pauses, Wayward Blooms, and my favorite sentiment, of course, I am more.....pssst, it's on sale!

I added a few details that may be harder to see.....the yellow circles are tinted stencil paste which adds a nice texture---also, to highlight some of the patterened paper below, I added some rhinestones in strategic places. A burlap tag and some dimensional flowers finishes the whole thing off. I am pleased with the way it turned out. These are so much fun, I'm already planning my next one. Sooner or later I will run out of people to give them to.....then, what will I do? TTFN, Jane

I Brake For Flowers

Perhaps I'm just attempting to channel something springy, but I adore this tulip image from I Brake For Stamps. I can't seem to get enough of it! It's so much fun to color, as you can see. To create my vibrant cards, I first stamped on watercolor paper and then colored them in using Dylusions sprays and distress inks. I used the idea found in the most recent Technique Junkies Newsletter called, Spray Mist Coloring. Such a great way to get even more mileage out of those sprays! I particularly like the dylusions brand because they are so vivid and colorful!

Because I was using watercolor paper, I decided to goof around a bit and sprayed one of the panels with a light mist of water after coloring. You can see how the colors ran and give that particular panel a more "arty" feel. I completed all three panels by inking the edges with distress inks.

The images are so gorgeous, on their own, I went with a clean and simple layout for all three.....I think they are perfect :)
